Staffordshire Police have launched an urgent investigation after a man was seriously assaulted in Stafford town centre, leaving him requiring hospital treatment for his injuries.
The violent incident occurred near the historic Victoria Square during the evening of Tuesday, 19th March, sending shockwaves through the local community.

Detective Inspector John Smith, leading the investigation, stated: "We are treating this as a serious assault and are following multiple lines of enquiry. The victim sustained significant injuries that required medical attention at Royal Stoke University Hospital."
Police are particularly interested in speaking with anyone who was in the Victoria Square area between 8 PM and 10 PM on the night of the incident. Authorities believe several potential witnesses may have crucial information that could assist their investigation.
