A woman has undergone emergency surgery and is mourning the tragic loss of her cherished pet following a brutal and unprovoked attack by two aggressive dogs during an early morning walk in a quiet Perth suburb.

The terrifying incident occurred at approximately 6:40 AM on Saturday in Sycamore Rise, located within the residential suburb of Dianella, situated north-east of Perth's central business district. Disturbing closed-circuit television footage captured the moment of the attack, revealing the woman's desperate screams as she attempted to shield her own dog from the pair of snarling canines before being violently knocked to the ground during the struggle.
Desperate Struggle to Save a Beloved Pet
As the two attacking dogs moved down a sloped driveway towards the roadway, the injured woman courageously ran after them, making a frantic attempt to physically pull one of the assailants off her defenceless pet. The CCTV footage then shows a neighbour intervening with a stick, trying valiantly to deter the aggressive animals while the woman's own dog lay grievously wounded on the ground, suffering from a severe stomach injury that had torn it open.
City of Stirling Mayor Mark Irwin confirmed that the two dogs responsible for the vicious attack have since been captured by local rangers and are currently impounded.
