Ohio Woman Shot Nine Times by Surgeon Ex-Husband

An autopsy report has unveiled harrowing details surrounding the alleged murder of an Ohio woman by her surgeon ex-husband, revealing she was shot nine times in a brutal domestic violence attack. Monique Tepe, aged 39, suffered multiple gunshot wounds across her body on December 30, according to a postmortem examination report obtained by the Daily Mail.

Gruesome Details from the Autopsy

The Franklin County Office of the Coroner determined that Tepe was shot once in her face, three times in her chest, twice in her left upper arm, once on the right side of her torso, once in her right forearm, and once in her right hand. Additionally, she sustained abrasions on her chest and left forearm, along with a bruise on her left calf. Her death was officially ruled a homicide caused by the numerous gunshot injuries.

Double Homicide in Columbus Home

Tepe's ex-husband, Michael McKee, also 39, was arrested and charged with murdering both Monique Tepe and her second husband, 37-year-old dentist Spencer Tepe, in their Columbus residence on January 10. Police reported that Spencer Tepe was also shot multiple times, and the firearm used in the murders was equipped with a silencer. The couple's one-year-old son, four-year-old daughter, and dog were all found unharmed in the home following the double homicide.

Manhunt and Arrest

McKee was apprehended in Rockford, Illinois, after a 10-day manhunt, approximately 440 miles from Columbus. He was extradited to Ohio, where he is currently held without bond in Franklin County. McKee faces four charges of aggravated murder and an additional charge of aggravated burglary, to which he has pleaded not guilty.

Surveillance and Evidence

Investigators revealed that surveillance camera footage captured McKee entering the Tepes' home on December 6, just three weeks before the shootings, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by the Columbus Dispatch. The couple was away that weekend attending a Big Ten Championship Game in Indiana. McKee allegedly drove a silver SUV, seen near his ex-wife's home multiple times prior to the murder, with stolen Ohio and Arizona license plates at different times.

Timeline and Weapon Link

Police believe the couple was killed just before 4 a.m., with their bodies discovered around six hours later. Columbus Police Chief Elaine Bryant stated that McKee had a gun when detained, and multiple weapons were seized from his property, with a preliminary link to one of the homicides. She emphasized this was a targeted domestic violence attack.

Background and Abuse Allegations

McKee and Tepe were briefly married in August 2015, with their divorce finalized in June 2017. Tepe married Spencer Tepe in December 2020. Court documents reviewed by the Daily Mail indicate that Tepe cited incompatibility in her divorce complaint and told friends McKee had been abusive, threatening her life multiple times. Witnesses alleged McKee choked her and forced unwanted sex during their marriage.

Family Reaction

Ahead of a memorial service, a relative told the Daily Mail that McKee's arrest was not a shock to the family, who had been expecting it, adding they were relieved he was captured.
