Coronation Street star Alison King, 45, has reportedly become engaged to her long-term mystery boyfriend. A source told The Sun that the actress, who plays Carla Connor on the soap, is 'very excited' after her partner proposed.
The news comes after King's previous engagement to sound technician Adam Huckett ended in 2012. The couple share a ten-year-old daughter, Daisy. King also dated Hollyoaks assistant director Paul Slavin in 2016 before being seen with her current partner in October last year.
Her co-stars, including Kym Marsh and Jane Danson, are said to be thrilled. The source added: 'Ali is so popular with everyone on the cobbles. They think it's wonderful. The engagement is a lovely surprise. Ali is over the moon.'
King's character Carla has had a tumultuous romantic history on the show, including marriages to Tony Gordon, Peter Barlow, and a failed wedding to Nick Tilsley. The actress herself has previously described her past heartache, but the source said she hopes 'those days are now firmly behind her'.
MailOnline has contacted Alison King's representatives for comment.
