A man has tragically died after falling from a luxury yacht into the English Channel off the coast of Newhaven in East Sussex.
Emergency Response and Recovery
Sussex Police confirmed they were alerted by HM Coastguard at 11.40am on Sunday that a passenger had gone overboard. This prompted an immediate search operation led by the coastguard.
The search team successfully recovered the man's body from the sea shortly after the alarm was raised. A spokesperson for Sussex Police stated that the man has been formally identified and his next of kin have been informed.

The police spokesperson added: "Our thoughts are with them at this difficult time. Enquiries are ongoing. No further details are available at this stage." The incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers present at sea, even aboard luxury vessels.
