Lanlan Yang pleads not guilty to all charges over $1.5m Rolls-Royce crash in Sydney

Lanlan Yang, the 23-year-old Chinese Australian woman at the centre of a high-profile crash in Sydney's eastern suburbs, has pleaded not guilty to all charges. The incident occurred on 26 July when a $1.5m Rolls-Royce SUV allegedly driven by Yang collided with a Mercedes on New South Head Road in Rose Bay.

The driver of the Mercedes, George Plassaras, who works for radio host Kyle Sandilands, suffered serious injuries. Yang faces four charges: refusing or failing to submit to breath analysis, dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, not giving particulars to police, and negligent driving occasioning grievous bodily harm.

Her solicitor, Michael Korn, entered the not guilty plea at Downing Centre Local Court and requested a brief of evidence from police. Korn told reporters outside court: 'Obviously the matter is quite tough, it's got a lot of attention, but we are taking to it.'

The case has drawn significant interest from the Chinese Australian community and on Chinese-language social media, driven by Yang's lavish wealth and speculation about her background. At previous hearings, dozens of observers attended, though only seven were present this time, including a Chinese-language YouTube personality known as Sydney Daddy.

Yang remains on bail with conditions including regular reporting to her local police station. She has been excused from attending court except for the first mention. NSW police must serve the brief of evidence by 9 January, with the next court date set for 30 January.
