The devastated family of a 16-year-old boy stabbed to death in Peterborough have paid an emotional tribute, describing him as an "amazing boy and son whose heart is pure". Baye Bireme Fall tragically lost his life after being attacked near the Orton Centre shopping centre on Sunday evening, according to Cambridgeshire Police.

Officers were called to the scene just before 7pm, and Baye was pronounced dead in hospital shortly before 9.30pm that same night. In a swift response, police have arrested a 15-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man, both from Peterborough, on suspicion of murder. Detectives were granted a 36-hour extension to their custody time limit by magistrates on Tuesday morning, allowing them more time to question the suspects. Additionally, a 16-year-old girl from March has been charged with possessing a bladed article in a public place and is scheduled to appear at Huntingdon Magistrates' Court on 13 May.

- The 16-year-old girl charged with blade possession was also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and has been released on conditional bail.
- A 17-year-old girl from Peterborough, arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, has been released on conditional bail until 8 July.
- A post-mortem examination is due to take place at Peterborough City Hospital on Wednesday to determine the exact cause of death.
