Elderly Woman Discovered Deceased in Freezer at Welsh Home

Coroner's officer Joanne Webb informed the hearing that a post-mortem examination had been conducted at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff. Following the discovery of his mother's body in February, Sylvia Phillips' son, Christopher Phillips, aged 60, was arrested by police. He subsequently appeared at Cardiff Crown Court last month, where he was formally charged with preventing a lawful burial. Christopher Phillips is scheduled to appear again at the same court for a further hearing on April 16, as the legal process unfolds in relation to this deeply unsettling case.
