Tragedy Strikes Coastal Queensland Town
A community north of Brisbane is in mourning after a 17-year-old girl lost her life in a late-night hit-and-run incident. The tragedy occurred on Margate Parade in the coastal suburb of Redcliffe.
Emergency Response and Scene Details
Emergency services were called to the scene at approximately 11:27 pm on Monday following reports that a vehicle, believed to be a white ute, had struck the teenager. Upon arrival, officers discovered the girl with life-threatening injuries. They immediately attempted CPR, but sadly, she was declared deceased at the scene a short time later.
Police Investigation and Public Appeal
Queensland Police have confirmed that the driver allegedly left the scene after the collision. The force has now launched a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death. Authorities are urgently appealing to the public for assistance. They are asking anyone with relevant CCTV or dashcam footage from the area, including Mabel Street and Margate Parade, around the time of the incident to contact them.
