A man arrested in connection with the infamous 'Putney Pusher' case from 2017 has been detained again after police discovered drugs at his London residence. The unnamed banker and former British Army officer, now 44, was initially taken into custody on Tuesday, nine years after a woman was pushed under a bus on Putney Bridge.
Drugs Found During Arrest
The Metropolitan Police confirmed that while in custody, the suspect was re-arrested for possession of Class A and Class B drugs. A spokesperson stated: 'He has since been bailed pending further investigation in relation to all offences. Enquiries continue.' The suspect's identity has not been disclosed, but he is described as a millionaire with ties to European royal families and works as a director at a private bank.
Background of the Case
In May 2017, a 33-year-old woman was pushed from behind on Putney Bridge, narrowly escaping being hit by a bus. The driver swerved to avoid her, but the incident was captured on CCTV, sparking a years-long manhunt. Despite two previous arrests and questioning of 50 suspects, the case remained unsolved until this week.
Authorities continue to investigate all aspects of the case, including the new drug-related charges. The suspect remains on bail as inquiries proceed.
