A forensic tent was erected and crime scene investigators were deployed in Manchester city centre following a serious incident involving a group of men.
Incident Details
Officers were first alerted to the scene after a call from the ambulance service about a man with an injury to his hand on Parker Street near Piccadilly Gardens. Police then located two men who both had cuts to their hands, a spokesperson for the force confirmed.
The injuries were not life-threatening or life-changing. Five men, aged between 18 and 37, were arrested on suspicion of affray.
Arrests and Investigation
All five individuals have been taken into custody for questioning. The Manchester Evening News understands that two of the arrested men were those found with the injuries. An investigation into the incident is now underway, with a scene in Chinatown forming part of Greater Manchester Police's probe.
A cordon was put in place on the corner of Nicholas Street and George Street this morning. Pictures showed a forensic tent erected within the cordon, and crime scene investigators were seen scouring the area for evidence.
