Franky Venegas, one half of the viral music duo the Island Boys, has seen the new year begin behind bars. The 22-year-old Florida-based rapper was taken into custody in Collier County on Wednesday night, facing a charge of drug paraphernalia.
Mounting Legal Troubles for Viral Star
According to reports from TMZ, this latest incident has resulted in Venegas being held without bond. This severe measure stems from the fact he was already out on bond from a previous arrest in February. That earlier case involved a firearm with an altered serial number and alleged drugs, though the narcotics charge was subsequently dropped.
Authorities state the February arrest unfolded after officers stopped a yellow Corvette for a traffic violation. During the stop, police say they found suspected Oxycodone pills on the passenger floorboard. They also allegedly discovered a spray-painted handgun with its serial number removed, alongside other paraphernalia. Venegas reportedly denied ownership of the pills at the time, claiming he had a prescription he could not produce.
A Pattern of Alleged Offences
Since shooting to fame in 2021 with his twin brother Alex via their viral hit I’m an Island Boy, Franky Venegas has encountered repeated legal issues. His record includes past arrests for charges such as domestic battery, reckless driving, and driving without a valid license. This latest arrest for drug paraphernalia adds another layer to his growing list of alleged offences.
The Collier County Sheriff's Office confirmed he is currently on a 24-hour hold without bond due to the breach of his previous release conditions. This situation highlights the serious consequences he now faces from the earlier firearm case. As details continue to emerge, this remains a developing story.
