Two Boys and Man Charged with Byker Murder of Gino Robb

Two teenage boys and a man have been charged with the murder of Gino Robb, who died after a stabbing on Shields Road in Byker. The 25-year-old was attacked on Tuesday night and later died in hospital.

Charges and Arrests

Jed Grieve, 33, of Orpington Avenue, Walker, and two boys aged 14 and 16, who cannot be named for legal reasons, have been charged with murder. All three have been remanded in custody and are due to appear before Newcastle Magistrates' Court on Monday.

Earlier, two men aged 22 and 24, and a 16-year-old boy were arrested on suspicion of murder but have been released on bail pending further enquiries. Three more people — two men aged 40 and 33 and a 16-year-old boy — were later arrested in the Walker area on suspicion of conspiracy to murder. The 40-year-old has been released on bail.

Police Investigation

Detective Chief Inspector Atherton of Northumbria Police's Major Investigation Team said: "Our thoughts are firmly with Gino's family and loved ones after the tragic events of Tuesday evening. We continue to provide them with all possible support and request that their privacy is respected at this difficult time."

He added: "Our investigation into the incident remains very much ongoing and a wide range of enquiries have been carried out to date. We remain in the Byker and Walker areas to carry out further enquiries and reassure the community."

Appeal for Information

Police are appealing for anyone who saw two people on an electric motorbike entering Shields Road from the area of Grace Street shortly before the incident. The bike then headed back along Shields Road into Grace Street. Witnesses with CCTV, dashcam, or mobile phone footage are urged to come forward.
