As 2025 draws to a close, the Guardian is inviting UK travellers to reflect on their year of exploration and share their most remarkable European discoveries for an exciting competition.
What We're Looking For
We want to hear about your best finds across Europe and the UK. Perhaps you stumbled upon a hidden coastal gem, an extraordinary museum, a restaurant with unforgettable cuisine, a breathtaking hiking trail, or found surprising nightlife in a small town. The more unique and off-the-beaten-path your discovery, the better.
The Prize and Judging
The standout tip of the week, selected by Tom Hall of Lonely Planet, will be awarded a £200 voucher for a break with Coolstays, a company offering more than 3,000 unique properties worldwide. The most compelling entries will be published in the Guardian Travel section and on its website.
How to Enter
Your submission should be approximately 100 words. While you are welcome to submit a relevant photo, the competition will be judged solely on the quality of your writing. For legal reasons, you must be a UK resident aged 18 or over to enter. The competition closes on Monday 24 November at 10am GMT.
You can submit your tip anonymously if you prefer, using the encrypted form provided by the Guardian. All personal data will be deleted once it is no longer required for the feature.
