Surprising Items Banned from Your Flight Hand Luggage

UK airports have maintained strict hand luggage restrictions, with some surprising items banned despite changes to the 100ml liquid rule. Travellers are urged to check prohibited items to avoid delays at security.

According to KLM, electronic devices with lithium batteries up to 160 Wh require permission, while pagers and walkie-talkies are banned on flights from or via Dubai. Self-balancing devices like hoverboards are prohibited, except for mobility aids with 48-hour prior approval.

Firearms, including toy guns and stun guns, are banned. Small lighters and matches can be carried on the person but not in hand luggage. Liquids over 100ml remain prohibited, though baby food and medications are exceptions.
