Travel Blogger Uncovers Hidden Seating Area at Stansted Airport

A travel blogger has revealed a 'hidden' quiet seating area at London Stansted Airport, located just behind an escalator on the ground floor. Cora Harrison, 31, from Wakefield, West Yorkshire, stumbled upon the space while travelling through the busy airport.

In a video filmed on September 25 before her flight to Sicily, Italy, the main departure area appears packed with passengers, while the hidden area shows dozens of empty seats. Harrison, who runs a travel blog with her wife Helen, said: 'Stansted Airport is a notoriously hard place to find a seat within departures. I came across this seating area by accident when I was travelling.'

According to Conde Nast Traveller, Stansted is the UK's fourth busiest airport, handling over 23 million passengers in 2022. Harrison noted that she has used the hidden area three times and 'always found it to be super quiet.'
