Ski in Europe for £200pp: Expert Reveals Poland's Hidden Gem
Ski Europe for £200: Expert's Budget Poland Tip

Dreaming of a ski holiday but worried about the soaring costs? A leading travel expert has revealed an incredible secret: you can enjoy a complete European ski getaway for just £200 per person.

The £200 Ski Getaway Breakdown

Chelsea, a savings specialist known online as @cheapholidayexpert, recently appeared on ITV's This Morning to share her remarkable find. She detailed how she booked a three-night ski trip to Zakopane in Poland for the astonishing all-inclusive price of £200.

This budget covers what would normally be a very expensive package: return flights, airport transfers, accommodation, ski hire, and even lessons. For context, a single day's ski lesson at many popular European resorts can cost between £50 and £110 alone.

Chelsea advised that travellers can fly into the historic city of Kraków and then take a scenic two-hour bus journey to the resort for approximately £7.50.

Why Zakopane is a Perfect Beginner's Slope

Nestled in the stunning Tatra Mountains, Zakopane offers miles of pristine, powdery slopes against a magnificent alpine backdrop. The town has earned a reputation as a 'hidden gem' for winter sports enthusiasts.

Beyond the slopes, visitors can unwind in inviting thermal pools and explore a thriving local food scene. Chelsea emphasised that the resort is 'fantastic for beginners and perfect for learning', with daily ski lessons and equipment hire costing around £30 each.

This stands in stark contrast to the thousands of pounds a person can expect to spend for a week at resorts in France, Switzerland, or Austria.

How to Find Your Own Bargain Ski Trip

The travel pro credited her discovery to a relatively new website called Heidi Holidays. This platform allows users to search for ski package holidays with flexible dates and locations.

Travellers can apply specific filters for their needs, such as:

  • Beginner or advanced level
  • Family-friendly options
  • Desire for a large ski area or vibrant apres-ski
  • Short transfer times

After selecting preferences, the site generates a list of bargain holiday packages, many offering significant savings. For solo travellers, Chelsea suggested a DIY approach can yield even better deals, avoiding double occupancy fees.

She cited her own previous success, having pieced together a three-night trip to Borovets in Bulgaria for a total of £410, which covered flights, hotel, car hire, ski hire, lift pass, lessons, food, and drink.

With this new Polish find, she aims to beat her own record, proving that an unforgettable ski adventure doesn't have to cost a fortune.
