Morrisons shoppers have spotted a new Polo flavour on shelves, the Berry Mint, which has sparked excitement among fans. However, the launch has also reignited calls for the return of the discontinued Fruit Polos, which were axed by Nestlé in December 2023 due to low popularity.
Social media users expressed mixed reactions. One Facebook user commented, 'Bring back fruit Polos,' while another echoed, 'Bring back the fruity Polos.' On Reddit, a user reminisced about craving Fruit Polos during pregnancy and noted they could still be found on Amazon, albeit with less vibrant packaging.
Nestlé UK confirmed the discontinuation of Polo Fruits and Polo Gummies on X, stating they 'were not as popular as others in the range.' The company added they would relay customer feedback about a potential return.
Alongside Berry Mint, Nestlé has also launched a sugar-free Extra Strong Mint. Sophie Browning, brand manager for POLO and Rowntree’s at Nestlé UK and Ireland, said: 'These new sugar-free flavours offer even more ways to enjoy that signature POLO freshness.' Both products are made in York and are available nationwide, priced in line with the core POLO singles range.
The Oral Health Foundation recognises that POLO Sugar-Free Mints are a useful aid in oral health. Fans have already expressed eagerness to try the new flavours, with one user writing, 'Need to try these.'
