Jeremy Clarkson faced a financial setback on the latest episode of Clarkson's Farm as he reluctantly sold his cherished Lambo tractor. The former Top Gear host parted ways with the iconic piece of farming equipment during season five of the Prime Video series.
Why the Lambo Tractor Was Sold
After purchasing the fully autonomous AgBot tractor, Clarkson found that his 2016 Deutz-Fahr tractor, customised with Lamborghini badges, was no longer in regular use. The AgBot, a driverless machine, took over ploughing and sowing duties at Diddly Squat Farm, allowing Jeremy and farm manager Kaleb Cooper to monitor its progress remotely.
In a voiceover, Clarkson explained: "The green Lambo hadn't turned a wheel in weeks, so I decided to sell it, which meant getting it valued by an agricultural auctioneer."
The Valuation and Auction
Agricultural auctioneer Oliver Godfrey valued the tractor between £50,000 and £60,000, a figure significantly lower than the £80,000 Clarkson had originally paid. Despite initial doubts, the auction saw competitive bidding, eventually reaching £70,500.
Clarkson remarked: "We are actually getting closer to the £80,000 that I had paid for it." Both he and Kaleb were astonished and relieved when the hammer fell at £70,500. Clarkson noted: "Well, it was a financial hit, but it wasn't a financial kick in the nuts."
What's Next on Clarkson's Farm
The auction episode precedes the season five finale, airing tomorrow on Prime Video. The final two episodes, titled Sickening and Reaping, will address a TB outbreak and the harvest at Diddly Squat Farm.
Clarkson's Farm season 5 concludes tomorrow exclusively on Prime Video.
