Rory McIlroy's £9 Million Wentworth Mansion: A Look Inside

Rory McIlroy made a quick trip back to his Wentworth mansion before taking on the US Open at Shinnecock Hills. The Northern Irishman has been settling into the £9 million property with wife Erica Stoll and daughter Poppy.

Family Time Before the Major

Speaking before finishing tied-12th at the Memorial Tournament, McIlroy admitted he was focusing on family time. He said: "I had a couple of weeks off and we got ourselves settled into our house in London for the summer. It was nice to be there for the last 10 days."

The 37-year-old purchased the home in 2023 for £9 million and has since renovated the six-bedroom mansion after relocating from their £16.5 million home in Jupiter, Florida.

Luxurious Features of the Mansion

Upon entering, a spiralling staircase and cosy fireplace greet visitors, alongside old-fashioned artwork and rugs. The living room features two sofa suites, a fireplace, and an open-plan design connecting to the kitchen.

The theatre room accommodates multiple people with a huge TV, dark red walls, and large leather recliners. The bathroom boasts a massive bathtub, wet-floor shower, and all-white appliances including a floating toilet and bidet.

The stunning indoor pool includes a hot tub and patio windows, with deep blue lighting creating a calm atmosphere. McIlroy may add a sauna or red-light therapy for recovery.

Why the Move?

Erica's desire to spend more time in the UK influenced the move. PGA Tour star Martin Kaymer shared that McIlroy's wife said: "I really don't like the sun [in Florida]."

Fellow golfer J.J. Spaun leaked the plans during a podcast, saying McIlroy mentioned building a house in London. Total costs including renovations are estimated at £14 million.

McIlroy now turns his attention to the US Open at Shinnecock Hills, saying: "Excited for a nice, good tournament here. The course is as hard as ever, so looking forward to the challenge."
