Remove Wallpaper Without Scraping Using Simple Water Spray Hack

Removing wallpaper can be a tedious task, often requiring hours of scraping and the risk of damaging walls. However, a viral hack shared on Instagram by Emma Varley suggests a simpler method using just water and a spray bottle.

Varley recommends using a manual pump sprayer, available from hardware stores like Screwfix for around £6.99, to thoroughly soak the wallpaper with warm water. She advises drenching the wall completely, then waiting 20 minutes before reapplying. After repeating this process, the wallpaper should peel off easily without scraping.

The method works by saturating the paper to loosen the adhesive. However, caution is advised in rooms prone to mould, as added moisture could worsen damp issues. Similar sprayers can be found at B&Q and Toolstation.
