Mohamed Salah's agent has emphasised that the outgoing Liverpool star has not yet made a final decision about his future. Salah will depart the Reds this summer after nine years at Anfield, during which he scored 257 goals across all competitions.
The Egyptian signed a two-year extension in April last year to remain at Liverpool until 2027, but an agreement was reached for Salah's time on Merseyside to conclude this summer. Since announcing his departure, rumours have swirled regarding his next destination, with speculation linking him to a move to Turkey.
Ongoing rumours also suggest Salah could move to the Saudi Pro League after leaving Liverpool. Now, the 33-year-old's agent has addressed the recent speculation.
"Mohamed is doing perfectly fine and neither he nor I prefer to discuss sensitive future plans with people not involved in them," Abaas wrote in a post on X. "Both he and I are very private about these things. Yes, people may ask and they may get a standard polite response but that's about it."
Abaas's comments follow claims from Ahmed El-Shenawy, Egypt's goalkeeper and Salah's teammate, that the forward has not yet made any plans.
"The prospect of leaving Liverpool has affected Mo psychologically, but the situation might change and he could still stay with the team," El-Shenawy told ON Time Sports. "He even told me that he doesn't know anything about his future yet."
Salah scored 12 goals across all competitions for Liverpool last season, his lowest tally since joining from Roma in 2017. Fenerbahce executive Ertan Torunogullari recently claimed Salah was open to moving to Turkey.
"He was very keen on coming to Turkey," Torunogullari told Fotospor. "The meetings we had were extremely positive. We had established common ground with him on many issues, including his salary. I believe that if the new management makes such a request, Salah will wear the Fenerbahce jersey."
