The undercard for the Tommy Fury versus Eddie Hall fight has been disrupted after BDave withdrew from his scheduled bout with Swarmz due to an injury. Brazilian fighter Biel has been drafted in as a last-minute replacement.
Fight Night in Manchester
Former Love Island star Tommy Fury is set to face former World's Strongest Man Eddie Hall in a highly unusual crossover clash in Manchester on Saturday night. The undercard features a lineup of social media personalities, but Swarmz will now face a different opponent after BDave pulled out.
BDave's Injury Confirmed
The entire card was scheduled to train on Wednesday evening, but BDave was absent. He later took to social media to explain his situation. "About three days before I was supposed to fly down to Manchester I was making some dinner, in amazing shape and on weight," he wrote. "After nine weeks of two a days I fell down the stairs like a r***** and pinched a nerve in my back and bruised my ribs. I currently can't punch or move my head at all. Anything more than a normal walk is extremely painful. I was really looking forward to fighting Swarmz and worked so hard. I'm sorry to Swarmz and misfits anyone that was looking forward to this," reports the Mirror.
Swarmz Reacts
Swarmz responded promptly and showed little sympathy, stating: "BDave ducked me. Everyone just saying I think he's really scared of black guys. I've been humble this whole time. The show will still go on."
Biel Steps In
The rapper will now face Biel, who has been brought in at late notice. Biel declared: "What a challenge! Happy to be representing my country as the only Brazilian on the card! God got us! LET'S GO!"
Hall's Future in Combat Sports
Eddie Hall was another fighter who chose not to train in front of supporters on Wednesday evening, but he is still expected to take on Fury this weekend. The 38-year-old has revealed that he believes he has fewer than two years remaining in combat sports. "In just fights in general, I think I've got another two years in me," Hall told Playbook Boxing. "I'm 40 in two years. I think that's the age where any human being shouldn't be getting hit in the head after 40. That's my timeframe. And whether that gets filled with boxing, MMA, bare-knuckle, whatever. In essence, what I want to do is go out, put my name on the map, put a bit of money in the bank, and if I can finish on a bang, that would be a massive positive for me."
