Fury vs Joshua Negotiations Nearly Complete, Says Hearn

Tyson Fury's US promoter Bob Arum has expressed confidence that a deal for a blockbuster unification fight with Anthony Joshua will be finalised within the next two weeks. Arum, CEO of Top Rank, told Sky Sports he is '95 per cent confident' the heavyweight showdown will take place in 2021, with only the site selection remaining unresolved.

Eddie Hearn, Joshua's promoter from Matchroom Sport, confirmed that negotiations are progressing well. 'We're now papering the fight, in terms of the contracts, a period of the fight, and looking out now in the next stages to go to the different various sites that have made offers,' Hearn said. He added that he sees nothing derailing the agreement.

The fight, which would unify the WBC, WBA, IBF, and WBO heavyweight titles, is expected to be the biggest in British boxing history. However, Hearn indicated it is unlikely to take place in the UK due to capacity restrictions. Potential venues include Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Dubai, Singapore, China, and the United States.

Fury last fought in February, defeating Deontay Wilder to claim the WBC title. Joshua recently overcame mandatory challenger Kubrat Pulev in December. Concerns about Joshua facing Oleksandr Usyk first have been alleviated as Hearn focuses on securing the unification bout.
