Nottingham Forest thrash Sunderland 5-0 in relegation battle
Forest thrash Sunderland 5-0 to ease relegation fears

Morgan Gibbs-White inspired Nottingham Forest to a dominant 5-0 victory over Sunderland, easing their Premier League relegation concerns. The win at the Stadium of Light created an eight-point gap between Forest and 18th-placed Tottenham, who have five games remaining.

First-half blitz

Forest scored four goals in a six-minute first-half blitz. Trai Hume's own goal opened the scoring, followed by strikes from Chris Wood, Gibbs-White, and Igor Jesus. Elliot Anderson added a fifth in the second half to complete the rout.

Sunderland's defensive woes

Sunderland's 'shambolic' defensive performance led to their heaviest defeat since returning to the top flight. The result extended Nottingham Forest's unbeaten run across all competitions to eight games.
