Pokémon GO and National Trust Team Up for 10th Anniversary Events
Pokémon GO and National Trust Partner for 10th Anniversary

Pokémon GO is marking its 10th anniversary with a collaboration with the National Trust, introducing PokéStops, Gyms, and themed Summer Quest events at more than 140 sites across the UK throughout August 2026. The partnership encourages players to explore National Trust properties while engaging with the popular augmented reality game.

Summer Quest Events and Locations

Themed in-game events will take place at 27 National Trust destinations, including Stowe Gardens in Buckinghamshire, Hanbury Hall in Worcestershire, Mount Stewart in County Down, and Tredegar House in Newport. The Pokémon GO Summer Quest events are scheduled for the first two weekends of August: 1–2 and 8–9 August.

In London, fans can witness a city-wide race between two prominent UK creators: Miniminter from the Sidemen and Chunkz from Beta Squad. The event will be held in Shoreditch, where participants will compete for a trip for two to Japan. Spectators can watch the action live and enjoy exclusive experiences.

Nationwide Participation and Prizes

Those unable to attend in person can join nationwide experiences and enter a separate prize draw to win a trip for two to Pokémon GO Fest 2027 in Europe. The collaboration aims to bring the Pokémon GO community together across the country.

Game Milestones and Impact

Since its launch in July 2016, Pokémon GO has amassed over 800 million players worldwide, who have collectively explored a distance equivalent to approximately 334 round trips between Earth and the Sun and caught one trillion creatures. The game generated $1 billion in revenue in 2025 alone and has consistently ranked among the top 10 mobile games since its release.

Executive Commentary

Ed Wu, president of games at publisher Scopely, said: “As Pokémon GO celebrates its 10th anniversary, what continues to inspire us is how the community has grown with the game. What started as an invitation to explore the world around you has become something that brings players together across cities, countries, and cultures, from neighbourhood meetups to celebrations that draw hundreds of thousands of people together. As we look ahead, our commitment remains unchanged: to keep evolving the game in ways that turn everyday places into opportunities for discovery and connection. We’re grateful to every player who has brought Pokémon GO to life in their community, and we’re excited to keep building its future together.”

Anniversary Celebrations

To mark the anniversary, over 1,000 Trainers gathered in New York’s Times Square on 9 July for a live Mega Mewtwo Raid Battle, featuring a surprise performance by dance duo Loud Luxury.
