Police have repeated an appeal for information following the double murder of a woman and her eight-year-old daughter in Ballymena, County Antrim. The bodies of the 39-year-old woman and her daughter were discovered at a house on the Old Cullybackey Road on Monday, alongside a 41-year-old man.
Victims and Circumstances
The three individuals were related and originally from Poland, although the young girl is believed to have been born in Northern Ireland. The police have confirmed that the woman and her daughter were murdered, while the death of the 41-year-old man is being treated as sudden. A police spokesperson stated: 'Our investigation into their murder, along with the sudden death of the 41-year-old man, will continue.'
Public Reassurance and Vigil
Authorities have moved to reassure the public, emphasizing that there is no ongoing risk. 'I’m keen to offer assurance that there is no ongoing risk to the public, and we are not looking for anyone else in connection with our investigation,' the spokesperson added. A vigil was held in the town on Wednesday to honor the victims' memory. The spokesperson described the impact on loved ones: 'This absolute tragedy has saddened the lives of so many, from loved ones to the wider community, and will be felt for many years to come.'
