Nationwide Issues Two-Week Warning on Debit Card Renewals

Nationwide Building Society has clarified its rules on debit card renewals, advising customers that new cards are sent out approximately two weeks before the end of the month to ensure timely arrival. The clarification follows a customer query on social media about when to expect a replacement card before the current one expires.

According to Nationwide's website, new cards are dispatched about three weeks before the expiry date and can be used immediately upon receipt. Customers are advised to destroy their old card once the new one arrives. No activation is required for online payments, but for contactless payments, users must first make a payment using their PIN.

If a debit card has not been used in the past six months, customers must request a new one by contacting Nationwide. For general current account enquiries, the building society can be reached on 03457 302011, Monday to Saturday from 8am to 8pm and Sunday from 9am to 5pm.
