Tartan Army and Americans Party in Boston Fan Zone

The Tartan Army partied with locals in the Boston fan zone as the USA got their World Cup campaign off to a flyer with a 4-1 win over Paraguay.

Scotland fans have been enjoying American hospitality since arriving earlier this week. As temperatures hit over 30C on Friday, fans soaked up the sunshine and headed to Boston Common to watch charity champion Craig Ferguson finish his mammoth walk from LA on Friday afternoon.

Revellers flooded into local pubs for refreshments, and as the sun set, focus turned to the host's first fixture. Boston locals enjoyed taking pictures with kilted fans, and this new relationship soon saw Scots joining to support the USA.

The Scots cheered as Folarin Balogun's double helped fire the US into an early 3-0 lead. A halftime performer thanked the visiting fans for their support. Fans danced together, holding up saltires alongside stars and stripes.

It was the first day the fan zone opened, giving the Tartan Army a chance to check out the area, expected to hold 5,000 ticketless supporters during the Haiti match tonight. With tickets for the Gillette Stadium match costing high sums, many fans will watch from the impressive arena at Boston City Hall. Others will watch from nearby bars, and after Friday night's relationships, they can expect local support.
