Brits in France Warned of Severe Delays at G7 Summit
FCDO Warns Brits of Severe Delays in France for G7

The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) has updated its travel advice for France, warning British nationals of potential disruptions during the upcoming G7 Summit.

G7 Summit Restrictions in Evian

The summit will take place in Evian from 15 to 17 June 2026. From midnight on Thursday 11 June to 8pm on Wednesday 17 June, movement around some areas of Evian will be restricted. Travelers will need a digital pass to enter certain parts of the town, whether on foot, by car, or using public transport. Registration for the pass is available on the G7 Pass website, which is in French.

The FCDO advises checking the regional government website for up-to-date information about these restrictions.

Border Crossings Affected

French and Swiss authorities plan to close several border crossings in the region between June 12 and June 18. While some crossings will remain open, severe delays are likely. The FCDO recommends planning journeys carefully and considering avoiding travel between France and Switzerland on these dates. For the latest information, travelers should check the Republic and Canton of Geneva website, also in French.

The FCDO provides guidance for travel to over 220 countries, covering entry requirements, safety, health, and regulations.
