YouTube Unveils 2025 Recap: Get Your Personalised Viewing Insights Now
YouTube's New 2025 Recap Feature Launches Globally

YouTube has officially launched its first comprehensive YouTube Recap feature, offering users a detailed and personalised look back at their viewing habits throughout 2025. This marks a significant expansion of the platform's previous year-end summaries, which were focused solely on music and gaming.

What's New in the 2025 YouTube Recap?

For the past three years, YouTube has provided a music recap similar to Spotify Wrapped. However, the newly revamped feature for 2025 delves much deeper, analysing a user's entire watch history. The Google-owned company stated that the YouTube Recap uniquely highlights interests, deep dives, and moments you explored this year, based on your viewing data.

Users will receive a set of up to 12 different cards that spotlight their top channels, interests, and the evolution of their viewing habits. A key new addition is the assignment of a viewing personality type, based on the genres and themes of the videos watched throughout the year.

How to Find and Access Your Recap

To locate your personalised YouTube Recap, you must be signed into your YouTube account on the app or website. Navigate to the "You" tab, where a banner button stating "Your Recap is here" should appear just below your profile details. If the banner is not visible, you can access your Recap directly via a web browser at youtube.com/Recap.

Availability began for North American users, with a global rollout scheduled for the rest of the world this week. It's important to note that not all accounts are eligible. Children under 13, supervised accounts, and accounts with paused watch history or auto-delete settings enabled will not be able to generate a Recap.

Discover Your YouTube Personality Type

The new feature categorises users into one of at least 11 distinct personality types. For instance, if you've consumed a lot of instructional content, you might be labelled a Skill Builder. Those drawn to uplifting videos could earn the Sunshiner persona.

YouTube revealed that the most common personalities in 2025 were the Sunshiner, the Wonder Seeker, and the Connector, while the Philosopher and the Dreamer were among the more rare types.

For music fans, the main Recap will still include a card summarising your total minutes of music listened to on YouTube (provided you've listened for at least 10 hours). This card will also contain a link to a more detailed, dedicated music recap experience.

YouTube's 2025 End of Year Lists

Alongside the new Recap, YouTube has released its traditional "End of the Year" rankings for 2025. MrBeast retained his position as the most-watched creator globally.

The top trending topics reflected a mix of global phenomena, including Squid Game, user-generated Roblox experiences, and the K-pop group KATSEYE. In podcasting, The Joe Rogan Experience remained the most popular on the platform.

The lists of top songs used in YouTube Shorts and most-listened-to tracks on YouTube were dominated by artists such as Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga, Kendrick Lamar, and casts from popular series like KPop Demon Hunters.
