Grand Theft Auto VI Release Pushed to November 2026
GTA VI Delayed Until November 2026

GTA VI Faces Another Setback

Fans of the blockbuster Grand Theft Auto series have been dealt another blow, as developers Rockstar Games have officially announced a further delay for the highly anticipated sixth instalment. The studio confirmed via a social media post on Friday, 7 November 2025, that the launch has been pushed back to 19 November 2026.

An Apology and a Promise from Rockstar

In a statement posted on X, the company expressed regret for extending the long wait but justified the decision as necessary for quality assurance. "We are sorry for adding additional time to what we realize has been a long wait," the statement read, "but these extra months will allow us to finish the game with the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve."

The announcement marks the second significant delay for the title. After years of online speculation pointing to a potential 2024 release, fans were first given a 2025 window in December 2023. This was then shifted to May 2026 earlier this year, with a similar apology citing the need for extra development time.

What to Expect in Vice City

Despite the setback, details about the game's content continue to excite the community. Grand Theft Auto VI will see players return to the sun-drenched, Miami-inspired metropolis of Vice City. In a landmark move for the series, the game will feature its first female protagonist, a character named Lucia.

Rockstar's statement further elaborated on the setting, building anticipation for the expansive world they are crafting: "We are incredibly excited for players to experience the sprawling state of Leonida and a return to modern day Vice City." The company concluded by thanking the global fanbase for their continued patience and support during the extended development cycle.
