Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly on the verge of selling goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario to Inter Milan for a fee of £17 million. The Italian has been the club's first-choice keeper since joining from Empoli in 2023, but has struggled in recent campaigns, leading the north London side to be willing to let him leave.
According to reports, Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio was in London this week for meetings and met Vicario's representative Valerio Giufridda for talks ahead of Spurs' Champions League win against Atletico Madrid. Inter have been seeking a long-term replacement for Yann Sommer.
Vicario, 29, has made 116 appearances in all competitions for Tottenham and has just over two years remaining on his contract. Meanwhile, fellow goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky could also seek a move, with suggestions he is keen to leave on loan to rebuild his career. This would leave Spurs needing to sign two new goalkeepers this summer.
Both keepers were at the centre of a controversial moment earlier this month when Vicario replaced Kinsky after just 17 minutes of the first leg of Spurs' Champions League clash with Atletico Madrid. Kinsky marched straight down the tunnel at the Wanda Metropolitano. Spurs boss Igor Tudor defended the decision, saying it was an act of helping to preserve the player and the team.
Tudor is expected to continue selecting Vicario this weekend as Spurs aim to move away from the relegation zone. The north London side are 16th, just one point above the drop zone ahead of Sunday's crucial match against Nottingham Forest.
