Celta Vigo are confident of beating Rangers to the signing of Couhaib Driouech. The Light Blues had an opening bid for the PSV Eindhoven attacker turned down earlier this week.
La Liga club set to make counter offer
The La Liga outfit are also at the table and are set to make a counter offer. Dutch sources believe a deal can be closed quickly for the 24-year-old.
PSV is already hunting for his replacement and is looking to sign a player in from Austria. Eindhoven officials also know that Driouech would favour a move to Spain over Scotland.
Moroccan under-23 cap's preference
The Moroccan under-23 cap hasn’t closed the door on Rangers, but La Liga would be his preference.
Rangers boss Derek McInnes, speaking after his side’s Europa League defeat to Jagiellona Bialystok, admitted his side were still in the market for several targets.
Other targets on Rangers' radar
Frosinone winger Fares Ghedjemis has been a target for both Rangers and Celtic. Coventry City’s Jahnoah Markelo is another who has been on the Ibrox radar.
McInnes said: “We’re currently looking at several wide players. These talks and conversations are on-going. I don’t really want to be too specific on any one player but a few reports recently have been accurate and we’re keen to just bring the best we can.
“Obviously the owner, Andrew Cavenagh has been really supportive. We want to try and be as ambitious as we can. In certain areas of the pitch we want to make sure we try and bring as good a quality as we can. We just need to see how this all lands for us with several targets.”
