Vinicius Jr has appeared to delete all photos and story highlights from his Instagram account, fueling speculation about his future at Real Madrid. The Brazilian winger's contract at the Bernabéu has a year left, and Premier League champions Arsenal are reportedly keen to sign him this summer.
Fans on social media noticed the sudden removal of all posts, including his profile picture, but no official reason has been given for the deletion. The move comes amid reports that Real Madrid are preparing an improved contract offer for the 26-year-old.
Transfer fee demands
ESPN has reported that Real Madrid would demand a transfer fee of 150 million euros for Vinicius Jr. However, Arsenal are believed to be preparing a bid of around £128 million. The Gunners have already made significant signings this summer as they look to strengthen their title-winning squad.
Mourinho's influence
Vinicius Jr recently spoke about new Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho, who has returned for a second spell at the club. The forward told Real Madrid TV that Mourinho advised him to remain "happy", "joyful", and to focus on his football. He said: "It has gone very well, getting to know the new coach and the new players and training very hard. Mourinho wants me to be as I have always been: happy, joyful and to play my football. We have to prepare physically so that during the season, we have fewer injuries and thus be able to count on everyone."
Vinicius Jr is out of contract next summer and has yet to agree a new deal, leaving his future uncertain as the transfer window progresses.
