Saha Slams 'Shambolic' Man Utd After Grimsby Defeat

Former Manchester United favourite Louis Saha has launched a blistering attack on his old club, labelling their performance in the Carabao Cup defeat to Grimsby Town as "shambolic" and pointing the finger squarely at goalkeeper Andre Onana for "inexcusable" errors.

The Red Devils suffered an embarrassing 2-0 loss to the League Two side in a performance that Saha believes highlights deeper problems within the squad. The French striker, who won two Premier League titles during his time at Old Trafford, didn't hold back in his assessment of the current state of affairs.

Onana's Costly Mistakes Under Fire

Saha was particularly critical of summer signing Andre Onana, whose costly mistakes have already marred his early Manchester United career. The Cameroonian goalkeeper, brought in to replace David de Gea, has failed to convince since his arrival from Inter Milan.

"The mistakes we're seeing from Onana are simply inexcusable at this level," Saha declared. "When you pay significant money for a goalkeeper, you expect reliability and confidence. What we're seeing is the complete opposite."

A Deeper Crisis at Old Trafford

Beyond individual errors, Saha identified systemic issues plaguing the club. The former striker suggested that the problems run much deeper than poor performances on the pitch.

"This isn't just about one bad game or one player underperforming," Saha explained. "What we witnessed against Grimsby was symptomatic of a club in crisis. The lack of organisation, the absence of fighting spirit, the tactical confusion - it all points to something fundamentally wrong."

Ten Hag Under Increasing Pressure

The defeat piles further pressure on manager Erik ten Hag, who enjoyed a promising first season but now finds himself under intense scrutiny. Saha believes the Dutch manager must take responsibility for the team's alarming decline.

"The manager has to ask serious questions of himself and his players," Saha stated. "When a League Two team can come to Old Trafford and outplay you so comfortably, something has gone terribly wrong with the preparation and mentality."

Fans' Patience Wearing Thin

Manchester United supporters, who have endured a difficult decade since Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement, are becoming increasingly frustrated with the team's lack of progress. The Grimsby defeat represents a new low in what has been a disappointing start to the season.

Saha acknowledged the fans' suffering, saying: "The supporters deserve so much better than this. They've shown incredible patience, but performances like this test that patience to its absolute limit."

The former striker's comments reflect growing concerns among Manchester United legends and fans alike that the club is drifting further away from reclaiming its former glory.
