Darts Champion Luke Littler Takes Break at Cheltenham Festival with Girlfriend
Luke Littler, the prominent darts player with two World Championship titles, hoped to extend his winning streak as he arrived for the second day of the Cheltenham Festival alongside his girlfriend, Faith Millar. The 19-year-old sportsman, currently on a hiatus from the Premier League, made a stylish appearance at the races, donning a sharp navy blue suit.
Fashion and Romance at the Races
Faith Millar, also 19, complemented Littler's look with a fashionable pink strapless dress and a black fascinator, walking hand-in-hand with her boyfriend. Their relationship, confirmed in July after months of speculation, has become a regular feature at major darts events. Littler had previously kissed Millar, a beautician, during the World Matchplay in Blackpool, where he triumphed to become the youngest player to achieve dart's prestigious Triple Crown.
The couple first appeared together publicly in May when Littler shared a photo on social media. Since then, Millar has frequently attended events, including the Australian Darts Masters last year. On DartsStream Live, Littler opened up about the challenges of their relationship, noting initial difficulties with online trolling. "Yeah, it's been tough," he admitted. "I just said, 'They're jealous. They wanna ruin us.' But I just said, 'Just don't look at it and just focus on what we've got.'"
Cheltenham Festival Highlights and Fashion
Ladies Day at Cheltenham is renowned for its fashion, featuring a Best Dressed competition. According to Gloucestershire Live, the first 200 women entering the Centaur events space received a complimentary welcome spritz. The event saw numerous glamorous attendees, with men also making bold style statements in brightly coloured suits and wacky windcheaters. Spirits were high as revellers gathered around large screens to watch the races, enjoying freely flowing drinks.
Racing Action and Animal Welfare Concerns
The day's main event, the Champion Hurdle, was won by Lossiemouth, affectionately known as the "Queen of Cheltenham." The star mare, favourite at 7/5, had previously won the Mares' Hurdle in 2024 and 2025. Trainer Willie Mullins praised her, saying, "She's a star mare. To come back four years in a row, let alone win, that is incredible." Jockey Paul Townend added, "It's easy when they have as much ability as she does. She turns up and she does her business."
However, the festival was marred by tragedy when Hansard, an eight-year-old gelding, suffered a fatal fall during the Singer Arkle Challenge Trophy Novices' Chase. The Jockey Club, which operates Cheltenham Racecourse, stated that humane euthanasia was deemed necessary. Emma Slawinski, chief executive of the League Against Cruel Sports, called for a boycott, telling the BBC, "The death of Hansard will sadden all animal lovers but tragically it's not a surprise, as every year horses are raced to their deaths at the Cheltenham Festival."
