Ella Toone Signs £1.5 Million Nike Deal in Women's Football Boom

Manchester United and England star Ella Toone has signed a significant three-year sponsorship agreement with global sportswear giant Nike, with industry sources valuing the lucrative deal at over £1.5 million. This landmark contract underscores the accelerating commercial momentum within women's football, coming just one week after reports emerged that her international teammate Chloe Kelly is also negotiating a seven-figure endorsement package with major brands.

A Pioneering Partnership

The 26-year-old attacking midfielder has collaborated extensively with Nike's Tiempo line, building on a relationship that began three years ago when she became the first female footballer to front a Nike campaign on Instagram as the global ambassador for the Phantom GX boots. This new multi-year deal solidifies her status as one of the sport's most marketable athletes, both for her on-field excellence and her expanding off-pitch profile.

On-Field Excellence and Records

Toone has rapidly established herself as one of football's most recognisable figures. A two-time European Championship winner with England, she delivered a memorable chipped goal at Wembley during the Euro 2022 final victory. At club level, she holds the distinction of being Manchester United Women's all-time leading goalscorer with 63 goals and boasts the Women's Super League record for most consecutive appearances by an outfielder, with an impressive 96-game streak.

She recently became the first player to reach 200 appearances for Manchester United Women, while her shirt consistently ranks as the club's best-selling women's kit. In recognition of her services to football, Toone was awarded an MBE in the New Year's Honours List.

Expanding Commercial Empire

Beyond the pitch, Toone has strategically diversified her brand portfolio. She co-hosts the popular BBC podcast Tooney and Russo Show alongside close friend and England teammate Alessia Russo. In December 2023, she launched her own brand, ET7, becoming the first Lioness to trademark her name, and subsequently opened her own football academy.

Last year, she made history as the first English player to establish her own creative and production agency, Amicizia Studios, in partnership with longtime manager James Marshall. The agency has already secured a significant partnership with TNT Sports focused on coverage of the Women's FA Cup.

Current Status and Recovery

Toone is currently in the rehabilitation phase, recovering from a hip injury that has sidelined her since December. Medical staff anticipate her return to competitive action towards the end of next month, as she prepares to resume her influential role for both club and country.
