Newsboy's Horse Racing Selections: Balgowan Nap at Lingfield

Newsboy's horse racing selections for Monday's three meetings include a nap at Lingfield and a strong fancy at Bath. Balgowan, trained by Seamus Mullins, is expected to return to winning form in the Follow @attheraces On X Apprentice Handicap (2.15) at Lingfield Park. The seven-year-old has only one win to his name, achieved over today's two-mile trip at Southwell last year, but boasts several placed efforts. Most recently, he finished third over course and distance at the end of last month, beaten three-quarters of a length and a nose by The Craftymaster. That performance was commendable as Balgowan came from well off the pace and had to wait for a gap. The handicapper has left him on an unchanged mark of 54, and with a rising star jockey booked, he looks poised to go two places better.
