Newcastle United have announced a series of significant upgrades to St James’ Park following a comprehensive fan feedback initiative aimed at enhancing the matchday experience at the 52,000-capacity venue.
Seat Replacements and New Additions
The club confirmed that 10,000 seats have been replaced over the past five years, with an additional 2,000 brand-new seats installed this season in the North and South Stand paddocks. This ongoing commitment to infrastructure improvements reflects the club’s dedication to supporter comfort.
Conversion of Betting Kiosks
Former betting kiosks have been transformed into bars and food outlets, with four additional locations identified for future conversions. These changes aim to diversify and improve the catering and hospitality options available to fans on matchdays.
Floodlight and 5G Upgrades
All stadium floodlights will be replaced ahead of next season, ensuring optimal visibility for players and spectators. Additionally, the club announced that work is now underway to deliver full 5G connectivity throughout the stadium, enhancing digital access for supporters.
Positive Fan Satisfaction
According to the club’s survey, supporters currently rate the matchday experience at St James’ Park as 4.05 out of 5, indicating high levels of satisfaction. The upgrades are expected to further improve this score and solidify Newcastle’s reputation as a fan-focused club.
