Liz Truss, Britain's shortest-serving prime minister, has finally secured a meeting with US President Donald Trump at his Mar-a-Lago club in Florida. Truss posted a photo of the encounter on X on Sunday, captioned 'Right about everything,' tagging Trump.
It remains unclear how the meeting was initiated or how long it lasted. Trump has not yet acknowledged the meeting on his own social media feeds, instead promoting a new documentary by his wife, Melania.
Since leaving office after just 49 days, Truss has adopted increasingly extreme right-wing positions and attempted to relaunch herself as a podcaster. She has addressed the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in the US for the past two years, where she described her own country as 'failing'.
Truss lost her parliamentary seat in the 2024 general election and has become a marginal figure in British politics. She is now trying to establish her own private members' club, The Leconfield, which charges 'founding members' £500,000, in partnership with property tycoon Robert Tchenguiz.
