Liz Truss Confronted Over Bid to Become Britain's Donald Trump

The Mirror has exclusively confronted former Prime Minister Liz Truss over her apparent bid to become "Britain's Donald Trump" during the pro-Trump CPAC conference in Texas. Speaking at the event yesterday, Truss declared she is now dedicating her energy to working out how to emulate the MAGA movement in the United Kingdom, branding it "MEGA - Make England Great Again".

Confrontation in the Corridors of CPAC

The Mirror caught up with the ex-PM in the corridors of the conference, asking whether she planned to lead the "MEGA" movement herself. Ms Truss refused to answer directly but smiled as she walked between media engagements. She also remained tight-lipped when pressed on whether she wanted to be seen as "Britain's Donald Trump."

Neither did she respond to questions about whether she still considers herself a member of the Conservative Party, after complaining from the stage that the party she briefly led as Prime Minister had failed to stop "globalist elites" from taking over Britain.

Announcing CPAC Great Britain

Moments earlier, Ms Truss announced from the stage that the inaugural CPAC Great Britain event would take place on 16-18 July this year in London, with tickets going on sale this week. She expressed her desire to harness the "energy of the Conservative movement internationally" and wake up the people of Britain.

"We want to wake up the people of Britain, who have been asleep while our country has been taken over," she declared. "Most people in Britain want to have a good job, they're proud of their country, they want it to be a Christian country. They don't want all this woke claptrap. And what we need to do is bring all those people together and create the momentum for real change."

Taking Aim at Globalist Elites and Former Colleagues

During her speech, Ms Truss took aim at "globalist elites," former Prime Minister Tony Blair, and her former Conservative Party colleagues, stating that the party she led had "lost its way." She called for a counterrevolution to overthrow what she described as the globalist regime now in power.

"What I learned from 10 years as a government minister trying to do things was that all the power had been handed away," she explained. "Handed away to unelected agencies, handed away to the climate change committee. We did not have as Conservatives the movement, the infrastructure, the media, the independent media to take that on."

Building the MEGA Movement Infrastructure

Truss emphasized that her current focus is on building the necessary infrastructure to support a movement similar to MAGA in the UK. "What I'm now working on is how do we build the infrastructure. How do we build the equivalent of a MAGA movement - a MEGA movement. Make England Great Again," she stated.

She also highlighted the need for independent media to challenge established outlets like the BBC, which she referred to as the "blob" media. "Because I know we will not get change in our country just by changing who is in No10 Downing Street. We have to change the system," she asserted.

The confrontation and Truss's statements at CPAC underscore her continued influence and controversial positioning within British politics, as she seeks to align with international conservative movements and reshape the political landscape in the UK.
