A man has been sentenced to two years in prison for stealing hard drives containing unreleased Beyoncé music and tour plans from a rental car in Atlanta. Kelvin Evans pleaded guilty in an Atlanta court on Tuesday, accepting a five-year sentence with two years to be served in custody.
The theft occurred in July 2025, before Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter tour dates in Atlanta. According to a police report, Beyoncé's choreographer Christopher Grant and dancer Diandre Blue reported that two suitcases containing hard drives with unreleased music, footage plans, and set lists were stolen from their rental Jeep Wagoneer. Clothing, designer sunglasses, laptops, and AirPods were also taken.
Evans was arrested in September after police tracked one of the stolen laptops and the AirPods to his location. He was released on a $20,000 bond but later pleaded guilty. As part of his probation, he must avoid the theft location and refrain from contacting the victims.
The stolen property has not been recovered, according to Atlanta police. Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter tour was the highest-grossing of 2024, earning over $407 million, and won album of the year at the 2025 Grammys. Speculation continues about her next album, reportedly titled Act III, with a possible rock direction.
