KSI Announces 'Painful' Exit from Sidemen After Britain's Got Talent Win

KSI has announced his departure from the YouTube group the Sidemen, just hours after appearing in the Britain's Got Talent finale. In an emotional video posted on 31 May, the 32-year-old confirmed his decision to leave the group he co-founded over a decade ago, describing it as the hardest video he has ever had to make.

The Sidemen, which also includes Vikram Singh Barn, Joshua Bradley, Simon Minter, Tobi Brown, Harry Lewis and Ethan Payne, rose to fame through gaming videos and later expanded their content to attract millions of viewers. In 2024, they released a Netflix documentary about their journey.

KSI, whose real name is Olajide Olayinka Williams Olatunji, explained that his decision was entirely his own and not due to any falling out. He said he had been feeling pulled in too many directions and needed to focus on his family and personal life. 'The Sidemen deserve somebody who can give 100%,' he said, adding that he could no longer do so.

Reflecting on his time with the group, KSI said: 'The Sidemen have been such a huge part of my life for over 12-13 years. For almost half my life, this Sidemen has been my second family.' He thanked his co-stars for their friendship and asked fans to continue supporting the group.

KSI's departure comes after he made his role as a Britain's Got Talent judge permanent, following his appearance in the finale. The group's future plans remain unclear, but KSI expressed confidence that they would continue to create amazing content.
