Kiefer Sutherland has cancelled the US leg of his tour, citing very low ticket sales. The actor and musician announced the decision on Instagram, stating he did not think it was fair to play to half-empty houses. Refunds will be available from the point of purchase.
Only two US dates remain on Sutherland's website: a Connecticut casino in June and a Las Vegas resort in July. The 59-year-old is currently in the midst of the UK leg of his tour, with upcoming performances in Manchester, Belfast, Dublin and Cardiff.
Sutherland's fourth album, Grey, is set for release on 29 May. He described the songs as marking personal growth, written less about observations and more about personal feelings.
The cancellation follows Sutherland's arrest in January for allegedly threatening a ride share driver in California. He was charged with a felony and released on $50,000 bail, with the case still under review.
Sutherland is best known for playing Jack Bauer in the Fox series 24, which earned him Emmy and Golden Globe awards. He has also appeared in films such as Stand by Me, The Lost Boys, Flatliners and A Few Good Men.
Other artists have also cancelled tours this year due to poor ticket sales, including the Pussycat Dolls, who cancelled all but one show of their reunion tour.
