Gloria Hunniford, 86, Announces She Will Become a 'Super Gran' on Loose Women

Gloria Hunniford, the 86-year-old Loose Women star, delighted fans on Friday's show (May 15) by announcing she is about to become a 'super gran'. The presenter shared the news alongside co-stars Kaye Adams, Judi Love and Jane Moore.

Hunniford revealed that her grandson Charlie and his wife Nicole are expecting a baby boy in September. 'Charlie and his lovely wife Nicole also revealed yesterday that they are having a baby in September. So I'm going to be a super gran and he's going to be a boy,' she said excitedly.

The star also received congratulations for being awarded the Freedom of the City of London, an honour she described as 'overwhelming'. The award was presented at London's Guildhall on Thursday (May 14) in recognition of her contributions to entertainment and her campaigning work as a breast cancer ambassador.

Hunniford, who was born in Portadown, Northern Ireland, made history as the first woman to present a daily radio show on BBC Radio 2. Her career spans numerous programmes, including Pebble Mill at One, Rip-Off Britain, and Loose Women. She was appointed an OBE in 2017 for her work supporting breast cancer charities.

The grandmother already has four grandsons, including Charlie and Gabriel Lindsay, the sons of her late daughter, TV presenter Caron Keating, who died of breast cancer in 2004. Charlie married Nicole in 2024 at the same church where his parents were wed.
