Four UK Kitchen Firms Collapse Into Administration

Four well-known kitchen firms have collapsed into administration or liquidation, with one shutting its doors immediately. The businesses, which had previously enjoyed success, have fallen victim to financial difficulties, soaring interest rates, and the cost-of-living crisis.

Kaboodle Ltd, a kitchen appliance supplier founded in 2005, ceased trading with immediate effect after encountering financial problems. The company, which operated depots in Leeds, Highbridge, Basingstoke, Telford, and Stevenage, confirmed that BRI Business Recovery and Insolvency has been appointed to place it into creditors' voluntary liquidation.

Waterline Ltd, established in 1947 and once one of Britain's largest independent wholesale distributors of kitchens and bathrooms, collapsed into administration in October 2025. Administrators Alex Cadwallader and Dane O'Hara from Leonard Curtis were appointed after the firm faltered due to rising interest rates and reduced consumer spending.

Moores, a British kitchen firm, fell into administration in January 2026, leading to 124 redundancies. A pre-pack deal saw Wren Trade Kitchen acquire certain intellectual property and welcome many former employees. Joint administrators James Clark and Will Wright of Interpath were appointed.

A Gloucestershire-based kitchen renovation firm also collapsed into liquidation at the start of the year, with debts exceeding £2 million, including over £150,000 owed to staff and nearly £300,000 to HMRC. The directors reportedly established a phoenix company, and Griffin & King Insolvency was appointed as liquidator.
