A horrific incident unfolded overnight in Oregon when a driver crashed into an athletic club, triggering a fire, and authorities later discovered evidence of an explosive device inside the vehicle.
The Portland Police Department reported that an unidentified driver drove through the front entrance of the Multnomah Athletic Club, a private club located in the Goose Hollow neighborhood, shortly before 3 a.m. The vehicle subsequently caught fire, and emergency responders rushed to control the flames.
Upon extinguishing the fire, authorities found that the driver had died at the scene. The Explosive Disposal Unit was called in and uncovered evidence of an explosive device within the vehicle. Multiple streets in the vicinity were closed as an active investigation proceeded.

Two law enforcement sources informed The Oregonian that the driver was a former 'disgruntled employee' of the club.
