Simon Cowell Covered in Streamers as Lil M's Impress on BGT Semi-Final

Britain's Got Talent descended into chaos during its second semi-final on Saturday night (May 3) as Simon Cowell was showered with yellow and blue streamers by dance group Lil M's. The young performers, from TDM Dance School in Port Talbot, reprised their minion-themed routine and left the music mogul covered from head to toe.

The group, who had previously dressed Cowell as Despicable Me's Gru during their audition in Blackpool, received a standing ovation from the judges after their energetic performance. Cowell admitted he was relieved not to be made to look 'stupid' this time, saying: 'At least you didn’t make me look stupid tonight. I really liked your first audition. I was a bit concerned it could get a bit boring the second time. It didn’t because I think this was better than your first audition.'

When asked what they would spend the £250,000 prize money on, one dancer hilariously replied they would use it all on bananas. Alesha Dixon praised the group, stating: 'What a start to the night, it’s never easy being the first up, but I think you captured the spirit of this show with so much joy and energy.'

The semi-final also saw LED dancers The Blackouts receive Amanda Holden's golden buzzer, and singer Vinnie McKee was voted through to the final by the public. Cowell had the power to use the new golden buzzer, which sends acts straight to the final, with Ant and Dec joking that 'the boss' held all the power.

Britain’s Got Talent continues on ITV1 and ITVX at 7pm on Saturday nights.
