Charlie Stayt's Haircut Distracts BBC Breakfast Viewers

Charlie Stayt and Naga Munchetty returned to the iconic red sofa on Thursday morning to present the latest edition of BBC Breakfast. The duo delivered headlines from across the UK and around the world, joined in the studio by Mike Bushell for sports and Simon King for the weather.

However, viewers were quickly distracted by Charlie's appearance, as many noticed he had had a haircut. Social media buzzed with comments, with one person on X asking: "Has Charlie had his bouffant trimmed?" Another replied: "Oooh yes, lots of silver coming through now." A third viewer said: "Charlie looks good," while another shared: "Good to see Charlie and Naga this morning."

King Charles' US Visit

During the programme, Charlie and Naga provided updates on King Charles and Queen Camilla's historic US tour. The royal couple were set to end their visit with a final stop in Virginia on Thursday after a busy day in New York City.

President Donald Trump made headlines by claiming the King agreed with him that Iran should not have nuclear weapons. Speaking at a White House banquet, Trump said: "Charles agrees with me - even more than I do," despite the Royal Family's tradition of political impartiality.

Buckingham Palace quickly issued a statement: "The King is naturally mindful of his Government's long-standing and well-known position on the prevention of nuclear proliferation."

Golders Green Stabbing

Elsewhere on the show, the hosts delivered heartbreaking news of an attack in Golders Green. Two Jewish men, 34-year-old Shilome Rand and 76-year-old Moshe Ben Baila, were taken to hospital after being stabbed.

A 45-year-old man, described by police as a Somali-born British national, was arrested. The stabbings are the latest in a series of attacks on Jewish sites, prompting calls for urgent government action.

Sharing a breaking news update, Charlie said: "The Government has announced in the last half an hour [that] it will invest a further £25 million into increased police patrols and protective security to keep Jewish communities safe." The funding will also be used to enhance protections around synagogues, schools, and community centres.

BBC Breakfast airs daily on BBC One at 6am.
